Prof Davies is the Chief investigator of two large studies aiming to achieve consensus on the investigation and management of symptoms after UGI cancer surgery. The key findings are:-
- Symptoms are common and affect quality of life
- Routine symptom monitoring may help to identify these issues and should be considered in all patients
- Investigation and management of the common conditions causing these symptoms has been agreed by expert (Delphi) consensus.
- Greater standardisation of monitoring and treatment should reduce healthcare inequalities.
